Extra Module: Introduction to Ayurveda

Ayurveda is often perceived as alternative medicine, however it’s far more than that. Ayurveda is a system of mind-body-spirit healing that has won the test of time as it is over 5000 years old. Ayurvedic medicine is based on the knowledge that our world and everything that exists within this world is consists of 5 elements: earth; water; fire; air; space. We all have a different consistency of each element which contributes to our state of being, also known as our “dosha.” There are three doshas: Vatta; Pitta; and Kapha. Knowing and understanding your current dosha and how your dosha can change, is the driving force behind living in an optimal state of balanced, natural health.
